Kathy Currie-Eyers
Owner / Head Trainer

Kathy has been breeding, raising, and training purebred dogs for the past 20 years. She has competed with both Siberians and Labradors in various CKC events. Kathy is a perpetual student, always studying dogs, the way they learn, the way the think and interact with each. She started her journey with Ch.ValleyWood's Justy Nuff CDX WC TT CGN and has been her goal since 2000 to create clean healthy educational environment for people and their dogs. Her passion is training dogs to be assistances companion partners for disabled person. Manna, Jared, Freddy, and Jasmine all provide both assistance and companionship to their handler/owners.

Kathy shares her life with her patient and long suffering partner Steve (not a huge dog fan) and her daughters Kacy age 25 who is invaluable at the business, her daughter Chelsea age 23,  her daughter Jacki age 21  and Jessie age 12 who is the proud momma of Lilly aka Lilly-Bug a as well as Faith, and the cats Patches & George.


Kacy Currie-Marier ABCDT

Kacy has been raised with dogs all her life. She first competed at the tender age of 11 with her yellow Lab Tailor and got his Companion Dog title. Although Kacy in her younger days was considered to be painfully shy and an introvert she has certainly done a complete 180 as those who have taken classes under Kacy can attest to. Kacy is a graduate of the Animal Behavioral College program. She also presently holds the position of Regional Representative for Ontario North for the Canadian Association for Professional Pet Dog Trainers; as well as a member of the executive board as Director at Large. Kacy has added numerous workshops and seminars all in the inexhaustible quest for knowledge. Kacy shares her home, and countless hours, rescuing dogs through her rescue Just N Time Rescue. In the past year and a half Kacy has helped over 80 dogs find forever homes. Kacy is also a foster home for the SPCA.  She currently is owned by Corhampton's Abi Tails CKC CGN and  Proudfoot Presents Fancy Feet. Her cat Juno refuses to participate in such foolishness and looks after his kitten Griffin.  Her husband Adam just shakes his head and smiles at her (Good Man Adam). 

Kacy and Adam now have a new addition to the brood! Welcome baby Benjamin!

 Adam Love                                                                                                                                               Daycare Attendant

Adam came to us in the spring of 2008. He is well versed in the world of dog as his Mom breeds Mastiff’s and he lives in house with FOUR of those gentle giants. He really does have a way with the dogs. Adam’s calm and quiet ways with the dogs is much appreciated by us when he comes in for his shift in the afternoon. Adam is in his first year of police foundations at Georgian College and hopes to become a canine officer.  

Jeremy Boston                                                                                                                                  Daycare Attendant & Assistant Trainer

Jeremy came to us in the Summer of 2009. He came just to visit with Kacy but he and Kacy’s South African Boerboel Fancy became infatuated with each other. He began spending more and more time out in the daycare with us and with Kacy’s rescued dogs. His natural way with the dogs, and sense humor made him a perfect fit. So when a spot became available we hired him! Jeremy shares his time with a German Shepherd named Lucy and her mom Amber, and the new addition to the family, baby Lily! 

Alison Salter                                                                                                                                          Assistant Trainer

Alison is a competitive Event Horse person, who got involved with dogs after she adopted Tali an Azore Cattle Dog from the Barrie SPCA. Alison is learning lots from Tali about dogs and their quirks. Alison assist in training classes regularly and attends training seminars workshops and conferences. Alison trains and teaches  here two nights a week plus puppy socials and then teaches riding lessons up at 7 Summits Stables! Besides Tali she shares her life with Quinn her daughter, Ba the horse, Moo the pony, Quinn's dog Sweet Pea and all "the cats"! Alison's million watt smile just lights up the place.

Jessie Eyers

Jessie is Kathy's youngest daughter and is frequently a helper in dog classes. Having been born and raised into this dog family, Jess has lots of dog knowledge and skill.  Jess is often seen helping out on the front desk as a receptionist and a  Baby Ben holder during the summer months and after school.

Lindsey Logan 
Daycare Attendant

Lindsey is owned by two Australian Shepherds & has been caring for and training dog’s for many years now. She’s a breeder of CKC registered Australian Shepherds and is Pet First Aid Certified. Lindsey also works with her Aussies in Obedience and Rally-O Trials. She is very dedicated to taking care of animals of all shapes and sizes! Lindsey has attended and continues to attend numerous seminars and workshops on dogs and dog behaviour.

 

Tiory Martin                                                                                                           Daycare Attendent & Assistant Trainer

Tiory has a wealth of skills and knowledge that she brings to us. In addition to being a wonderful daycare attendant with the dogs, She also works at the SPCA and then spends a day a week at Bear Creek Animal Sanctuary. So yes that really is a baby tiger on her back! The saying goes 'no rest for the wicked'; so Tiory must be downright evil as she is so hardworking. We are are thrilled to have her spend part of her time here. Tiory is a wonderful asset to the TopDog team! She shares her life with  two rescue dogs Blayze a quiet little cattle dog and Sindyr a lovable Rotti.

Craig Cassidy                                                                        Assistant Trainer

Craig came to us wanting learn how to become a dog obedience instructor. He did an apprenticeship with us and assists in Puppy Classes on Monday nights. Craig also works for the NewMarket SPCA as an adoption specialist and onsite trainer!
